AI committee

An internal governance body (or an assigned existing committee) responsible for overseeing AI strategy, risk appetite, policy implementation, role assignments, escalation paths and supervisory engagement; typically includes representatives from legal, compliance, risk, data science, information security and customer functions.

A statutory body proposed to be led/coordinated by the Ministry of Science and ICT tasked with reviewing and classifying AI risk categories, adjudicating confirmation requests for prohibited or high‑risk systems, advising on the national AI basic plan on a three‑year cycle, and recommending oversight and enforcement actions while coordinating with sectoral agencies and regulators.

A designated governance body (a subcommittee under the Committee for the Digital Economy and Society) responsible for cross-ministerial coordination, stakeholder mapping, periodic review of objectives, and oversight of implementation instruments defined by the national AI strategy.
