AI-enabled defraudation

Fraud committed through the use of AI or similar tools.

Definition

A mode of commission of fraud identified in the amendment where deception or misrepresentation is effected through the use, manufacture, programming or instrumental deployment of AI or analogous technologies, and where the actor's intent is to defraud; the bill treats this modality as a legally cognizable form of fraud for purposes of applying Penal Code penalties.
