Fundamental Rights Impact Assessment
Evaluation of AI system's potential impact on human rights before deployment.
Definition
A documented assessment required by the Regulation for certain systems to identify, analyse and mitigate potential adverse impacts on fundamental rights (including discrimination, privacy and other civil rights). It must describe identified risks, the likelihood and severity of harms, and the specific measures implemented to eliminate or reduce those harms to ensure compliance with the Act’s rights‑protecting obligations.
