Definition
An artificial intelligence-driven or automated decision system used to make or materially influence decisions that have significant legal or life-impacting consequences for individuals, particularly in domains such as housing, education, employment, credit, healthcare, and criminal justice. AB 2885 requires these systems be identified, documented in a central inventory, and accompanied by performance, privacy, cybersecurity, and contestation information.
