A procedural requirement introduced by the Legal Notice whereby deployment of real‑time remote biometric identification systems in public spaces for law‑enforcement purposes must be preceded by an ex‑ante application and authorisation by a Magistrate; such authorisation is mandatory for lawful deployment and operates alongside notification to the IDPC.
