Narrow (task-specific) AI

Operational definition used in the report for AI systems engineered to carry out a single, well-defined function or class of functions (e.g., virtual assistants, number-plate recognition). These systems rely on data-driven model training and may use machine learning, NLP, or computer vision methods but are not designed for general-purpose reasoning outside their target task.
