Nonsentient artificial intelligence system
An AI system legally declared to lack sentience.
Definition
A technological system that, under this bill, is declared to lack subjective experience, consciousness, self-awareness, or emotions and therefore cannot be treated as sentient for legal purposes. The term is used to categorically ascribe non-sentience to AI artifacts to prevent attribution of sentient capacities in law.
