Recognized Employee Organization
A labor union or association officially recognized to represent public employees in collective bargaining.

An organization, typically a labor union, that has been officially recognized by a public employer to represent a specific group of public employees for the purposes of collective bargaining concerning wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
The bill would have required notice to the recognized employee organization representing the affected job classification. The term is part of California public-sector labor relations law and was not newly defined by AB 2656.
