Chief AI Officer (CAIO)

An agency-level official designated to coordinate AI use across the enterprise, convene governance boards, manage AI-related risks, interface with OMB and interagency bodies, and oversee implementation of M-24-10 requirements such as inventories, plans, and monitoring. Agencies must appoint a CAIO within 60 days of the memorandum.
