A qualified trust-service artefact authenticating data from a public body.

Definition

A technical trust-service artefact, as defined by the national Electronic Identification and Trust Services Act and eIDAS, used to authenticate and ensure the integrity of data produced by a public sector body; electronic seals serve in lieu of handwritten or ordinary electronic signatures for automated administrative acts. Use of an electronic seal must comply with qualified trust-service provider requirements, certificate management, and supervisory rules.
