Foundational Model

Large-scale model adaptable to multiple downstream tasks.

Definition

A large-scale pre-trained model that can be adapted, fine-tuned or customised for a variety of downstream applications; when adapted to high-risk uses it is subject to sandbox testing, specific risk assessments and interoperability with conformity assessment pathways.
