Definition
Physical systems that integrate mechanical, electronic and software components and operate, wholly or partly, with embedded sensing, control and decision‑making functions to perform tasks in the external environment. The Act uses this definition to delimit the scope of products and activities subject to planning, safety, certification and operational rules.
