A congressionally mandated advisory committee composed of nonfederal experts that provides independent advice to the President, OSTP, and agencies on AI policy and implementation; it is required to submit reports to the President and Congress (including an initial report within one year and periodic reports thereafter) to inform strategic direction and evaluation.
