The sequence of stages that an AI project follows, from initial conception and requirements through design, procurement, verification/validation, deployment, operation, maintenance and decommissioning. The Recommendations use this lifecycle framing to assign responsibilities, checks and artifacts at each stage to ensure governance, risk mitigation and auditability.
