Single point of contact

National contact for EU coordination and cross‑border liaison.

The national single point of contact designated by the Regulations (the Minister) responsible for central coordination, publication of contact details, and acting as the official interface between Ireland and the European Commission and other Member States under Article 70 of the AI Act.

The designated national contact (hosted in the Department or National AI Office) responsible for liaising with the European AI Office, the AI Board and other EU institutions, facilitating cross-border cooperation and information exchange, and handling incoming requests from EU authorities.

The national authority (Commission nationale pour la protection des données, CNPD) designated to coordinate implementation of the AI Act in Luxembourg, act as the single national contact for the EU AI Office and the European Artificial Intelligence Board, and to notify the Commission under Article 70(2) where required. The role centralises inter-authority cooperation, information exchange, and public guidance on AI regulation.
