These systems are considered a clear threat to the safety, livelihoods, and rights of individuals, encompassing practices like harmful AI-based manipulation, exploitation of vulnerabilities, social scoring, and real-time remote biometric identification in publicly accessible spaces. They are outright banned under the Act, with specific, strict exceptions for law enforcement.
