Algorithmic Impact Assessment (AIA)
Assessment evaluating risks and impacts of an AI system.
Definitions (4)
A structured impact assessment that providers of high‑risk systems must prepare, documenting the system's risk classification, data provenance, anticipated impacts on rights, mitigation measures, testing and validation results, and governance arrangements; the bill requires a public summary and a technical annex for regulators to support conformity assessment and registration.
A mandatory, publicly available assessment tool maintained by TBS/OCIO that asks risk and mitigation questions to produce an impact-level score, and which triggers prescribed baseline and additional measures (publication, peer review, testing, monitoring) based on that score.
A documented assessment that employers or developers must complete before deploying an AI system which analyzes potential impacts on labor rights, discrimination risks, workplace health and safety, data use, and mitigation measures, and which must be updated periodically or when system changes materially alter risk.
A structured assessment process to identify and document potential harms, distributional effects, stakeholder impacts and mitigation measures associated with an AI system, used to inform risk management, DPIAs, testing requirements and approval decisions.
