Stakeholder

Designers, developers, deployers, users, and those affected by an AI system; the term captures all actors with roles, responsibilities, or interests across the AI lifecycle. It is used to allocate governance duties and participation in oversight, impact assessments, and remediation processes.

A stakeholder refers to any individual, group, or organization that can affect, be affected by, or perceive itself to be affected by a decision or activity related to an AI system. This broad definition ensures that the perspectives and needs of all parties involved in the AI ecosystem are considered when addressing explainability.
